Home > Annual Land & Water Use Data > Managed Wetlands Water Use

Managed wetlands are defined as impounded freshwater and non-tidal brackish water wetlands. Managed wetlands may be State or federal wildlife areas or refuges, private wetland preserves owned by nonprofit organizations, private duck clubs, or privately owned agricultural lands flooded for cultural practices such as rice straw decomposition. Each type has different applied water requirements.

NOTE: Managed wetlands water use files display data in thousand acre-feet.

SPECIAL NOTE: Only total ETAW and AW are available for 1998, 2000, and 2001. Beginning with 1999, additional data are available, including habitat description, flood up/draw down dates, acreage, evapotranspiration, and effective precipitation.
